My name is Sherri Lowe. I am a fifty year old Canadian transplant living in Thailand. When I’m not on my yoga mat, I enjoy cycling, trying new vegan recipes, a cold beer, lingering in coffee shops and exploring Bangkok. When I am not pursing these activities, I’m writing about them  in various on line publications.

As a student of life with a passion for yoga and meditation, I hope to share with people what yoga has brought to me…an ease of movement, a sense of self and a balanced mind.

I have been practicing yoga for 12 years, having come to yoga later in my life. I have been lucky enough to have practiced with many talented teachers and students all over the world. I completed my Teacher Training  in Goa, India in 2012. I then spent the 2013 season in Goa teaching yoga and managing the day to day operations of the Yoga Teacher Training facility that I graduated from.

My personal practice is Ashtanga based, but I also incorporate aspects of Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga into my practice and classes. I am also inspired by the philosophy of Vanda Scaravelli’s “be kind to yourself” and have found it has helped me work through my own injuries and the limitations of my aging body.

I have focused my teaching on working with older people and people of all ages who are new to the yoga practice. I view teaching yoga as a service and it is a great privilege to work with students on their own personal goals. I believe that yoga is truly for everyone: if you can breathe, you can do yoga. If you don’t feel fit or are intimidated by joining a large yoga class, if you are any age and have never tried yoga, if you are an older person and want enjoy the benefits of yoga or if you have done a bit of yoga and want to learn more about proper alignment and how to use yoga to move your body, then my classes are for you.

Classes are thoughtfully sequenced to build confidence, strength, and grace in a safe environment. Combining breath, stretching, strengthening and relaxation with a focus on anatomy and proper alignment of the body. My goal is to provide a safe, fun environment for Yoga so that people can feel good inside and out!

I look forward to helping students build their own personal practice, one that helps them take their life in any direction they want to go!
